[Now playing: "Patchwork Neurology" Circle Takes The Square]
Last night I went to see Matchbook Romance at Starland ballroom. Very good show. First band up was Gibbler. Pretty crappy. Then The Matches played which was quite enjoyable. After The Matches played, Maxeen was on. I believe I saw a couple minutes of their performance at skate and surf. They were very good. Their drummer was especially fantastic. Matchbook Romance went on last, and they were also very good. Very good stage presence. I don't really feel like doing a song for song summary, so if you like them, go see them. You will not be disappointed.
While we were there, standing in about the second row, these really annoying girls shoved right in front of us fairly rudely. so kim and I (more kim than me, because they hadn't really bothered me much yet) beat them all up. What a badass. :-p then she said to this kid we were standing next to, "now that I've attacked you, whats your name?"
haha. then we laughed with the jeremy kid about the stupid anna nicole smith commenrcial they were playing on the tv screen over and over.. and how obnoxious those girls were, shoving in front of us in a flock of about 5 people. They kept playing "Full Collapse" between bands and then we started talking about thursday and such... And the crappy band that played first with the singer who looked like scott stapp of creed.. Hahaha. Yeah, that kid was pretty cool. I will definitely look for him next time I see thursday. And possibly tonight if I go see Armor For Sleep and Midtown at Starland.
At the end of the show, everyone stayed and made Matchbook Romance play an encore. Apparently they "don't EVER do that" hah. Awesome.
After the show ended, we went by the merch area and talked with the lead vocalist/bassist of Maxeen. Kim asked for one of the pins on his vest, and it said in really small text "if you're close enough to read this, kiss me" so she did. Haha. Kim is a grouppppie. :-p I think a hug was enough. hah. Then I talked to this girl who saw my Eighteen Visions concert who saw them with Anterrabae and From Autumn to Ashes at Starland... I saw them at Irving Plaza, so it wasn't the same show.
Then we went to a diner, and went home. Awesome night.
ooh.. towards the end of Matchbook Romance's set, some members from the other bands came out and they covered "Rape Me." that was pretty awesome.

This is no longer going to be locked. If anyone I dislike wants to read this enough, I suppose they can. It's actually a bit flattering... =) But if you're going to read this, leave me a fucking note, creep. I mean it. If I have not been informed that you are reading this, I will notice an unknown i.p. address viewing my site eventually, and you will be banned promptly.
